wAITING FOR A REPLY OR HELP FROM MY POSTINGS On HCM, needing adviceon salary, living conditions, an no one has answered. Are you a friendly bunch there or what? China forum has been a life line of info to who ever and what ever they need. Would love to hear from any body in regards to life in HCM city, urgently required as I will find out in 2 weeks that I have offer and I am a bit dubious now of accepting due to non replies.
I only posted yesterday and I suppoe manyof you are busy with teaching and maybe dont have the time like mny in China but please, please |

There are a couple of boards that are Việtnam specific: Mine - www.mekongesl.com - www.detham.com - www.livinginvietnam.com - and I know Lizard Doctor has one in the works.

I'd say take it, but get your criminal record sent to your Vietnamese Embassy with $50US for translation and verification. The new regs are quite strict so read up on them.

The summer season is in full swing so people probably aren't spending as much time online as a couple of weeks ago. |

I see this post was back during the summer season, and it is very true that the June-August summer season is a very demanding time for teachers as all of the language schools here are running around the clock and teachers don't have much free time. In Korea, every teacher has an opportunity to be on the net as the PC bangs are open 24/7 and winter time forces the teachers indoors. HCMC, for the most part, is closed for business after midnight and few teachers have the internet at home. Even now with the ESL work season nearing Tet Holiday, it is always summer time here and most teachers in Vietnam just choose not to spend so much time on the internet. There is a lot of good-living to do in our free time outside of work. |
