|
|
Hi there I'm starting a new job in Bogor on the 1st of July and was wondering if it sounds good or not?
Pay is starting 7.5 million rising after 3 months to 8 million. They are re imbursing my air fare after 3 months. They have given me 10 million for place to live and a PC. Teaching 20 hours a week.
2 weeks paid holiday.
SO is this good can I live off of this? What is Bogor like? |

Refund of whole airfare (if that is the case) after 3 months is good, 2 weeks' leave is fairly poor, 20 hours contact time is fine - depending on how the school calculates an 'hour'. It is certainly possible to live on 8M per month without any problems at all, but 10M doesn't even cover a year's rent on a small house let alone a PC as well. If the 8M is over and above housing costs then it's a good deal, if you have to pay your own way then it's not so good. Mention the name of the employer and others on the forum could help further. |

no well i get a pc as part of my contract and the school is brand new im going in and helping to sort out the academic side of it. 10 million is given to me but i dont mind putting a bit of my own money in to pay for a lush place. The moneys good in south korea if not the school owners!
so anyway, if anyone is living in bogor please fill me in about the place, the more info the better! |

Sounds like TBI Bogor.
the housing allowance is not so good.
do you have to work saturdays?
the point about total hours is relevant too.
if a class is 50 mins with 10 min break, then you may lose 10 mins of every hour. For every six hours you will officially have done only 5. |

I've heard that TBI is a good place to work at (if it is the place) but two weeks holiday doesn't seem too good.....what about sick leave? 8 mill isok for a standard teacher but not if they want your "expertise" on the acedemic side...that's Dos work. |
