I think maybe Polonius had it right.

Either way, from reading this thread I know who not to lend my OED to, -or a tenner before payday.

Darkhorse: Methinks you protest too much.

You are the one who said that you were in debt, and it's not my fault that your creditors tracked you down. By your own admission, you were quite visible. What did you expect? You can't be part of the system, yet assume that you don't have to play by its rules.

What I am advocating is NOT being part of the system. People who aren't have a lot bigger menu of choices.

Muahahaha!

My darkhorse, you're so powerful. Can I watch you pee?

How melodramatic.

Never noticed him before this. I'll have to ask around.

Never ever ever burn your bridges: always pay your taxes in ANY country you live and work in, and be sure to keep good contacts with your family and friends at home and those you meet while away - teaching English and living abroad can be a very precarious existence: fine while things are going well and youre strong, but youre only one bad financial mess-up / bad relationship breakup away from really needing those things. The very last thing you need to do is to block yourself from being able to go home. Keep up with the minimum payments, they cant ask you more than that. If you cant do the payments in Argentina (salaries really are low there) then go somewhere where you can - South Korea etc.

This is wonderful advice -- take it!
