Hi everybody!

I have been offered a job in Hongseong, South Korea. The agency who arranged it was Gia Consulting and my contact was Gina Kim. Has anyone been or taught in Honseong as an English Teacher? Or dealt with either the agency or the client? Better yet has anybody worked or know someones who is/has at Yale English School. Is this a good school?

My placement has been offered and i believe i have been offered a very resonable contract, i am currently waiting for visa deployment.

Does anyone have any advice for my reagrds to living there, teaching english (as this is my first post), things to look out for, must do's/dont's.

Also is Korea a good place to pick up cheap electrical appliances or is Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore a better bet (looking for a professional camcorder and apple laptop mainly).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks

John K

You need to be asking your questions on the Korea forum. You'll have to register anew with Daves to post there but you can browse & search in the meantime. Gia Consulting & Gina Kim are referenced a few times & none too flatteringly.

General word of advice -- dont accept any job blindly or on hearsay. Its fairly crucial to have candid contact with present &/or former native speakers at the school in question before you sign anything. Skip this step at your own considerable risk.

Electronic stuff is not bargain-priced & Apple is a marginal presence here.
