I can let Paul give any details if he sees it fit or appropriate.... But here is my take on it.

The thread kinda speaks for itself. When the point of the thread has been completely lost and degenerates into a flame war with people bickering back & forth, calling each other names, it's probably best that it gets locked before temps flare even more and the discussion degenerates even further. If you wade through the comments, it doesn't need much of an explanation as to why it was locked.

In general, a locked thread usually means that no more useful contributions are being offered and the mods would just as soon see the thread die than have it keep getting bumped. In the Westgate threads, I'd say that was the case. It was probably a good call on Paul's part.

That pretty well sums it up.

The last name calling by Andare to "Wackybansei" was the final straw. If people can not call each other by their assigned names and refer to other posters by derivatives or insulting names they lose the right to post messages on here or they get their wings clipped.

I am within my rights to move or even delete the thread as I see fit, but thought it best to leave there as it has some good info on it, despite the insults. If you can not play nice here and behave like mature adults I will take your toys away.

PS for those who think I abuse my power by participating and getting involved in threads I dont throw my weight around as a Moderator when "arguing" with someone. I will only step in when flaming and insults start to take the place of civilised discussion.

Usually an explanation is provided when something is locked and it gets bumped to the Moderator forum which I believe does not appear on your screens. thats where threads get moved to when they disappear. On some days the Moderator forum doesnt appear and I kind of lost track of it due to other pressing duties.
