Stay - collect your pay - then negotiate a higher summer camp salary or walk.
If you decide to walk, don't - RUN like hell! Get out quickly.
If you need an emergency place to stay just post it here and someone will render assistance. |

My boss asked me to do the summer camp this year, I gently refused, did it last year, 6 hours a day teaching morning and afternoon and then 2 hours playing with the kids or teaching a company. I was exhausted and broke out in a rash,. Don't do it not worth it.

Has anyone ever heard of the Omega Institue? They are a joint venture with Educational Services Group Inc. (American) and Shanghai International Studies University(which I believe has a pretty good reputation)
After reading all your negatives about summer camp I am a bit discouraged but I have been back in the US for one month for family reasons and I am hemoraging cash. I'm looking for a decent 4-6 week summer assignment back in China before returning to my full time job in Nanjing in late August.
Any suggestions will be welcomed.

Congrats. Now run the f*** out of there. Schools like yours like to pull on your heart strings...please stay we have no foreign teachers we are desperate...etc. You have two options,
1) Leave and work for your camp in the west, or
2) Tell them to SHOW YOU THE MONEY.
Either way make sure you don't burn out...it's hard to recover.
