Is it easy to find a job anytime of the year, or is July and August the best time of the year to find a job? Also, after arriving in Taiwan, how long does it usually take until finding a job? Is 1000 US dollars enough for spending? What is Changua like? Or is Taipei the place to be? |

Jobs are available year round, but summer is busier than most times of the year.
The problem with your proposed arrival date relates to local taxes as you will need to pay 20% until December 31st, and all of this money will be forfeited. If you can arrive before the end of June then you will stay pay 20% initially, but will entitled to a partial refind of that so that you end up paying either 6 or 10% tax. |

It should take less then a month for a qualified, reasonable person to find a job. The choice of city is a personal preference. Taipei is a large city with every mondern convenience and a large expat community. There are more jobs to be found living in Taipei and it is more expensive.
1000US should be enough. You need to remember though that your first pay will come a month after you start work. You will have to be able to rent a place which most of the time requires a deposit. Don't spend your money quick and loose just because things seem so inexpensive here. |
