Between Hanoi and HCMC, which city provides more working opportunities for ESL teachers? |

Difficult choice as it seems a lot of people like one or the other - a lot of Hanoi expats prefer it to Saigon and vice-versa. Best way if you had the chance would be to have a little tour for a couple of weeks as a tourist and see which city you ger a better 'feel' for. Trend tends to be the first of the two that you arrive in. Maybe you should arrive in Danang and see which direction you feel pulled towards! |

Saigon: warm or hot all year round, friendly, better nightlife, more work
Hanoi: four seasons, actually not that attractive but has lakes and greenery whereas Saigon is a concrete jungle. More conservative, people less friendly, government is more in your face.
I've lived and worked in both cities and although I much prefer Saigon, some people do love living in Hanoi |
