Hi I spent sometime in Mexico and want to go back and teach again. I did not have a good experience finding a job on my own and want to use a company called internet works. Any information on them would be great.
Thanks

The company goes by various names on the Internet: Internet Works, Teach English Mexico, and Employnow. There are several web sites for this company. If you do searches for all of these names, it should give you a broader picture of the services this company offers. Personally, I think it's a little on the pricey side for the services provided, especially if a client doesn't have much for TEFL training and experience, but that's just my opinion. |

I call foul on your response and am curious what you really know about this company. If more than one link directs to that webpage, welcome to the world of marketing. It does not mean that the company has different names and webpages for the same business. (Study some of the names and links to other schools and programs, Guy Courchesne's included, and you will get my point)
I know this company personally. They have ONE webpage for teaching english in Mexico and have been around for a LONG time... The owner has taught in Mexico himself and knows Mexico and the ropes. He is an honest man (unlike some that have cruised through these forums)
A guarantee for a job and housing, sometimes free housing is worth it's weight in gold for many teachers. You could spend more money than you quote, just wandering around aimlessly applying for jobs and you know it. Be nice, not everyone is as skillful and worldly as yourself, and I don't like to see anyone's business criticized unjustly. Richtx1 is one of the reps and he has spoken to this as well. I have no problem recommending this company www.teach-english-mexico-com because I have worked with some of the happy teachers they place, but don't just take my word. They are also members of the BBB and will supply references. I submitted the link for the young teacher that kept a diary on a blog, who was a Teach English in Mexico Program participant after someone inquired about teachers blogging in Mexico. His comments were very positive about this program. |

Samantha, what is your problem? Please go back and re-read my post. There is nothing negative in my post about Mark Farley's business, other than perhaps my personal opinion that he charges a bit much for the services his company provides. If you want to "call foul" because I expressed my opinion regarding the cost of the service, I guess you have that right, although I think the tone of your post directed toward me was uncalled for (again just my opinion.)
I've met Mark Farley, the owner of the company, and spent some time with him. Actually, he offered me a job as rep with his company a few years ago. He is a decent, up-front person. Because I consider his service on the pricey side, that does not indicate that I think the owner is dishonest, nor does the fact that doing a web search using different names leads to web sites/pages for the same company suggest that it is a dodgy company. I think if you do a web search, you'll find more than one web page for this company regarding teaching in Mexico. I thought that was a helpful suggestion on my part for anyone wanting more information about this particular placement service.

Well, I have done placement for this company, and of course, think it's a good investment. People don't always have the time, patience, resources to invest in a job search -- especially in a foreign country.
Anne's OP noted that she'd worked in Mexico before, but wasn't satisfied with the job she had. I'm not the only placement person who has invested part of my income in making calls, answering e-mails, and personally guiding the person around to make sure they do find something -- if not perfect -- at least satisfying and livable.
Which is no guarantee they will be successful. I did have one placement who screwed up (simply leaving for a vacation without informing his employer), which is, of course, beyond the job broker's control. |
