Hello,
I am planning on heading to Madrid in the fall to get certified and teach English. I just found out the school I was planning to attend in Madrid in the fall for a certification program isn't gonna offer it's course anymore. Anyone have any suggestions of good ones?
Thanks - Dan |

I went with a school called EBC and I was very happy with them. I am teaching in Madrid and Im enjoying myself. The tutors are very experienced and they really help you learn, and with people like myself, experienced teaching really counted. They were very supportive at EBC, from the tutors all the way to the administrative staff. I like Madrid, the people and slowly but surely I think my Spanish is improving. Good luck on your search.

I got my TEFL certificate with Canterbury in 2002 and enjoyed the experience. If you would like more specifics feel free to PM me or read my previous Canterbury related posts on here.
On top of that Madrid is great! I've been here for nearly 4 years so you could imagine that I already feel a little...

dan,
I'll also give a thumbs-up for Canterbury. I'm in the TEFL course currently, and have started the 40 hours teaching practicum. So far I'm pleased with the course, and I'm loving Madrid!
I wrote some more details in the "...any Americans teaching in Spain" post above. |

Hi Dan,
I am currently booked onto the August course in Seville with European Language Centres. I had trouble finding info on them, or indeed finding anyone else who had heard of them.
But I went with them anyway and so far I have no disappointments. They responded to my application very promptly and professionally.
Regarding the second part of your post, there are subtle differences between CELTA and Trinity... but to be honest I don't really think it matters which one you have as both are highly recognizable. |

Hey that's wierd - I was about to ask if anyone had heard of European Language Centres. I just applied for the course and it's on my list of possible schools to go to.
Thanks - Dan |

Just a quick question for those who have responded to this post. What kind of cost would one be looking at to obtain the CELTA or similar qualification at the establishments mentioned? |
