Planning on leaving Japan for a few days before my 90 day tourist stamp expires in order to come back for another 90 days. It seems common for people to do so, mainly to Korea, I was thinking Taipai. Anyways, I just now started to think, "won't the Japanese immigration ask to see my return ticket out of Japan once I re-enter?" I wasn't asked to show proof apon entering the first time around. , Even though I was ready to show my return ticket, I was never asked.
I just thought, it seems people are going to Pusan everyday to do the same thing, though most are probably not on visitor status. I don't know.
My question is, if I leave for Taipai before my 90 days is up-take a return flight back to Japan a few days later, do I need to worry about being asked for proof of my leaving Japan?
Should I get a one way ticket somewhere then get a return ticket from that place to Japan and back? |

You just stated you have a return ticket. It is also the airlines that you have to be concerned with. Many airlines will not allow you on board if you do not have a proper visa or proof that you can leave the country. If you are denied entry at immigration it is the responsibility of the airline to fly you out of that country. |

the round trip ticket was only a month long. I am thinking I should get two this time. Round trip to Korea and back, then from Korea, round trip from Korea and back. Just not use the second part of both trips.
Is this what other people do?
I was wondering about the Pusan boat trip. I looked up the prices, seems like these days flying is just as cheap. |

You mean you can't just live in the airport like Tom Hanks? |

Just say you have an E-ticket. Many travelers are paperless these days. |

Where are you from?
Tourist visas CAN be renewed from within Japan, but it is MUCH more difficult to do so at some offices that at others. PM for more info. |
