Based on my experiences teaching in Seoul, Mexico City, and rural Honduras, I would much rather have a peer ESL instructor (ex-pat) refer me to a school or business, than a recruiter or just a blind ad. Therefore, I am asking if any ESL instructors on this job forum, living and working in Indonesia, can refer me to his/her school or business for an ESL position.

If you contact me via email: [email protected], I can supply you with a detailed CV and photo. In all brevity, I have 5 + years experience teaching ESL to primary school pupils through university students, as well as business executives in Tanzania, Korea, Mexico, South Africa, and Honduras. In addition to classroom teaching, I have also conducted private 1:1 ESL instruction, as well as scripted and acted on two weekly educational, television shows in Seoul, Korea, for EBS (Educational Broadcasting Systems.) The television shows, "Real Talk" and "Pros and Cons", both served to teach conversational English to Korean audiences. I co-authored the Seoul National University English Board exams: the Listening Comprehension Section, while contributing to the content of a variety of ESL text books and workbooks on three continents.

Please do not hestitate to contact me at [email protected] should YOUR school/business currently have an opening.

Thank you.

Dear Peers:

My profound apologies, I had no idea that my posts would incite such hostility. My intentions were to reach out to fellow, contented ESL instructors in countries where I have an interest to work--mainly Asia and Central or South America--and possibly develop a few relationships as I did in Korea, Mexico, Honduras, South Africa, Tanzania, and whatnot.

Luckily, several friendly and generous peers have responded quite positively: that yes, they are happy with their living and working environments and maybe, their school/business will be hiring in the near future.

Again, my apologies for any discomfort.

Kelly N Patterson (and you can "google" me)

you should be looking at singapore or hong kong.
work in the government school system.
good money and good conditions and good career potential.

you can contact any national plus or international school in indonesia for employment and i am sure you will get many offers.
but it would be a retrograde step, seeing your experience.
