I was in the paper years ago, when I got married. The strapline was 'hocasiydi, kocasi oldu' (not quite true). Since several teachers at my school were getting married to other Turkish people at the same time, I was held to be responsble for a 'dugun firtinasi', which is really quite scary when you think of it.
