Hi again, all,

I've been posting a lot and may post more b/c I leave for Spain on Friday so am starting to get a bit anxious. I just want to make sure that I get as much done over here, USA, as I can so I can avoid as many surprises and obstacles as possible. I've read through a gazillion posts and think I've gathered all recommended items but I would love any more advice before heading to the airport.

Here is a list of items/tasks that I've learned from the posts. Please feel free to add or ammend to this list.

Take with:
passport,
college diploma,
laptop w/ wireless access,
copies of birth certificate,
a decent bank balance - at least 2000EU

tasks:
make a couple copies of all important documents - one to leave at home - for when I get pick-pocketed;
gather Credit Card company phone #s for when that happens
Get GSM cellphone package when in Spain - phone, time, etc.

Hmmm, list seemed longer in my head. Maybe I'm already forgetting something.

Well that's it - what do you all think?

Thanks,
R

Dont bring too much stuff with you (your list sounds fine), as then youll be able to move around easily (flats dont always work out) and youll have space for all the clothes youll inevitably buy here. If youre coming to Madird bring a warm jacket and your favourite pullover as it gets very chilly here in winter.

Moores right, the first place you rent will not be your last and if you come to Madrid right now, youll find that the "rebajas" (sales) are all over the city and there are some good buys. Enjoy!
