I need to leave Japan. I don't want to tell my employer because he will make substantial deductions from my wage and make things very difficult.
I realise leaving without giving any notice is very unkind, however my employer has left me no option but to leave without notice.
My question is; is it likely that there will be any questions asked at the airport by immigration when I hand in my gaijin card? Currently I have a 1 year visa that hasn't expired. |

Apart from the issues you raise about leaving your employer without notice--I'll leave that for someone else--why do you have to leave your gaijin card with immigration? Just get a re-entry permit and then leave. No questions will be asked. |

Do as Sherri says if you want to return and work. If going for good, no worries at all' Unless U R wanted by the cops, your name wont be on any list and of course you are free to go under J law. If this was Oman or the UAE immigration might be different, but Jpn wont detain people for breaking work contracts.
japans constitutional law isnt so bad. thats why cyclists cant be stopped for just being gaijin and you cant be banned from entering onsens without cause, as some Js tried to do (to Russian sailors mainly) in Otaru bout 3 years back. |
