I posted this on the General Asia forum as I thought it might be better suited there. But I guess the general forums see much less action than they do here.
If anyone is inclined to help me out, please visit the question I asked here:

Thank you!

Hi JD2,
Don't see any need for any of the precautions you mentioned.
Killer shopping malls and you can check out the Petronas Towers.
Making the same trip, only 6 hour lay-over this time.
Last time did like you. Stayed in a swanky hotel booked through the airline, really nice and reasonably priced. I would recommend it.
Where are you going in Europe?
Kind regards,

Don't forget to buy a reentry permit from immigration before you leave Japan, or you will lose your visa upon returning. |

Thanks Glenski, that was very kind of you. Was that directed to me?
Fortunately, I purchaced a multiple re-entry permit last time, for the first time. Might add that I really got my money's worth as this will be the 4th overseas trip in a year.
Warm regards,

Thanks, Glenski.... I got my unlimited re-entry permit at the same time I got my visa last week. Finally got the elusive 3-year sucker! YAY!
Sweetsee: Czech Republic. Gonna buy me some slivovice and absinth. I'm also gonna gain me about 20 pounds from the food!
Woohoo!

Ride-on Jim,
Be safe and burn one for me, not in KL though.
Safe travels,

Depending on how long your lay-over is, you might want to consider staying at one of the airport hotels. The downtown area is a fair distance.
Last time we stayed at the Concorde Inn KL Intl. Airport. It was very nice, I can recommend it. We have a 14 hour lay-over this time so we're staying there again. It's about 5600 yen for two people. |

Hi Azarashi Sushi,
Where are you off to, when?
Seems like we are all passing thru KL.
Love the announcement the pilot makes prior to the final approach,
everyone sort of looks around with wide eyes!
Enjoy your weekend,

Hi Sweetsee... Yeah we're all passing through KL! Looks like we all bought the cheapest ticket out of Tokyo!
We're headed for Istanbul. From there we're going to head north and spend some time in Bulgaria and then back to Istanbul. Off on the 30th for a month. I can't wait! |

Layover is for 3 days. (On purpose, of course). Ergo, I don't plan on staying anywhere remotely NEAR the airport...
Good thought though. |

Hi Azarashi Sushi,
Thanks for asking. I arrive in London for 2 nights and then Easyjetting to the Dam for 5 nights. After that, we will spend 2 weeks with family in Nice. I like hanging with my Moroccan mates and playing beach volleyball there. My grandfather is celebrating his 90th birthday.
You are going to have an awesome time. I imagine you will encounter scenes like the ones posted in Kent's thread in GD, absolutely beautiful there.
Isn't it wonderful to travel from here after enduring the way we do?
Enjoy your weekend,
