I think the students and teachers suffer alike from the bucket shops. All the things that the teachers suffer affects the students. Hourly pay means that you have to get as many hours as you can when you can so you are tired and stressed and do little preperation. See the job info journal for one ET teacher who had to prepare in the early hours because of the split shifts. The visa runs mean loads of substitute teachers who don`t know the class and end up doing a poor lesson because it is not their real class. The poor pay and conditions lead to a high turnover of staff who when they know they are leaving don`t care and don`t bother in class. Classes change hands so many times that the students realise what is going on. Students get fed up with being treated like cattle and leave and the crass marketing replaces them with new ones.

An anecdote from an ET class.

Teacher does a runner and a new teacher is assigned to this weekend class. Teacher walks into class nervously after being told that the previous teacher was really popular, opens the door and sees a load of excited faces and the table covered with food, drink and a cake. Shock horror it is Ebru`s birthday and their teacher had said they could have a party. New teacher explains what has happened and Ebru burst into tears and ran out crying and never came back.
Students don`t suffer -sure they do. If they just treated students and teachers with a bit of respect and had decent pay and conditions surely they would get respect back and everybody would benefit. And the ET lot are supposed to be religous.
