My mother and I are searching for teaching jobs in Mexico. We're finding it hard to track down names of schools, or if we find the names we can't find a website or contact email address. We're looking to live in a small city or town-besides that we're not picky. Any help/advice (decent schools to which we might apply) would be so appreciated. This is our first time searching for ESL jobs...
thanks!

A good way to find schools is look in the mexican yellow pages online. Here you can search for english schools in all Mexico.

For Korea, Taiwan, and China, searching online is an easy way to find jobs. For Latin America, it is best to get on the ground and find a job. Find a place you might want to live(if unsure, let us know what you are looking for) and then head to that area and look on the ground. |

Exactly right Greg. It is a whole new ball game in Mexico where even if there is a website and email address, you probably won't get a lot of responses. It really is a cultural thing and meeting someone in person is still the way of the world here. More meetings are conducted over breakfasts here in my city that we would have handled over the phone up north. This enables us to chat about all kinds of other things (trust is being gained during this process) and enjoy a good breakfast while we are at it. We can say goodbye with a handshake and know a deal has been made. Practice your handshakes before coming to Mexico. It could land you a job! |

Thanks for all your help everyone. I guess I won't worry if we don't get something set up before we go. |

Barb, Are you both teachers with credentials and experience? This could make a big difference as to where and by whom you get hired. |
