I have just read this sample letter of invitation from the Turkish man horror story forum. Do you think that this letter would work?
Dear Sir or Madam
This is my letter of invitation in support of my husband / fiancs boyfriend (HIS NAME) visa application. I am his sponsor.
We have been a couple since (DATE), when I spent weeks/months on holiday in (RESORT) . I met there and we went out as a couple for.weeks / months. I returned to the UK in ..to resume work, and we kept in touch by telephone calls and texts over the winter. In (DATE), I returned to and and I lived together as a couple for .weeks / months, in (RESORT), .. supported me financially during this time. In (month-year). asked me to marry him, and I agreed. We decided we would get married in (month-year). I returned to the to resume work, and again we kept in touch my phone and text.
. applied for a visitors visa to be with me in the (for the birth of our child,) but the application was refused. (Our child was born in the.... on (date). In (date) we only managed to spend.week/s / month/s together in the summer, we stayed together in (RESORT), .Turkey. supported us financially while we were in in (date). I returned to work in the in (date), and in (date) I joined .. in (RESORT) for ... week/s holiday. During that time . enquired about a visitors visa at the British Consulate, but was advised there was a 4-month waiting period for interviews. As we intended being in for the summer of 2002, we did not pursue a visa application. In (date), I joined . again in We all lived together in (RESORT) for week/s / months, until I had to return to the to resume work. . supported our family financially whilst we were in , and during this time we were married, in (TOWN / CITY) on (DATE). I returned to the in (DATE) to resume work. When we are apart from each other we keep in touch by phone and by text message.
I enclose an attested copy of my passport and visas. (I also enclose our childs birth certificate and my midwife notes, naming as our babys father. (CHILDS FIRST NAME) surname on her birth certificate is . because we were not married when she was born, and was not present in the UK to register the birth with me, as his visa application had been refused. We plan to have her name changed legally to when .. joins me in the UK.
SUPPORT AND ACCOMMODATION:
We plan to settle as a family together in the as I have a full time permanent job and therefore I can support our family. I enclose my last 6 monthly payslips, a letter from my employer, and my contract of employment.
(Currently our daughter attends nursery school while I work. When . joins us we plan that we will both be working, and our child will continue at nursery school. However, (if ..cannot find a job straightaway, he will care for our child while I work.)
In addition to my monthly pay, we have over . saved in my bank account. This has been saved from my pay, especially during the periods of time that I was in Turkey with , as he supported our family there, while I was still receiving monthly pay from my employer in UK. I enclose my 3 most recent bank statements.
I currently live with (my child) in a ..bed-roomed property at ... This is where we will live as a family. I enclose the tenancy agreement / mortgage deeds for this property. I also enclose electricity, gas and telephone bills, which confirm that all the utilities in the property are in my name.
I enclose my birth certificate, which I understand .. may be asked to show at his interview.
We wish to settle as a family in the, where we have adequate accommodation and a stable and sufficient income for our family.
Yours faithfully

Interesting website link.. thanks... hehe.. Did anyone read the article in this month's Time Out - Istanbul? It is about the research on the subject of "staying power after penetration" of men from different countries. Turks were at the bottom at about 3.7 minutes. British were at the top at about 7.6 minutes. This is a great article and discussion topic for intermediate to advanced TEFL classes.. Check it out.. |

bullshit man ...see a usergroup called "turkishgirlfriendofbritishmen".... this might give you the exact idea who is really at the top or bottom
and i dont think it is a good idea to discuss it in the class, might be dangerous for you if they try to prove it all. |

If you look at the girlfriends of Turkish me site general discussion April they have a discussion about the staying power of Turkish men. These women seem to have a lot of experience and they put it down to two reasons. First they say it is the wham bam thank you man attitude and the lack of experience they find in Turkish men. Although they have reported some success in learner training. |
