Will be delighted if I have a few little ones running about. Hope I am 'genki' enough to make it happen.

Making them is easy. Its raising the little rascals that wears you out.
If all else fails there's always Viagra.

My objective is really to prevent little rascals from being made. Hence I am taking the pill. I'm engaged and we're monogamous.

I'm in the process of filling out my prescription for the pill back here to take with me. But I've heard I need some forms to make sure it's okay to take them or they might get confiscated at customs. CK would be very sad should this happen.

Thanks for the help though guys! Cheers,

Probably a wise idea. But when we came to Japan, my wife brought about 2 yrs' worth of b/c pills. She takes Demulen (sp?). Didn't even consider having anything to show customs.... And recently, my wife's mother shipped her up another 2 yrs' worth by regular parcel post... Arrived in a box with 2 yrs' worth of Arthrotec (for my headdaches) with no problems. Customs didn't even look twice.

But having said that, I've said this many times before -- results may vary. Seems that there is never just 1 way to do something in Japan.

I think everyone is forgetting the role of condoms here. I'm a big proponent of people using condoms. Why?

Here's a story (skip if you don't want to be preached to):

My buddy married his high school sweetheart of 6 years and they had a great relationship. She was a devout Mormon and he although he never switched to Mormonsism, the relationship was one of love, peace and tranquillity.

After several years of marrage, they started getting behind of mortgage and credit card payments so they decided that she would go off to Korea to teach English and pay off some of the debt.

Once she got to Korea however, she discovered that Korea was full of horny and handsome young GI hunks who were full of hormones and dying to sleep with anything female and living.

She succumbed to tempation, and had numerous flings with American soldiers.

When her husband went to visit her to Korea, guess what souvineer he brought back home to Canada with him?

Hope this story is a reminder that condoms are good. Now, everyone go out and have sex!

(PS)

Thank-you Sweetsea Cool

GWW, what a horrible thing to happen to your friend! Having been in Korea I can say, GI's are generally (not all I'm sure) disgusting. Itaewon was far from being my favorite place.

I have my man wrap his monster with a rubber. And the above post about Japan not having large rubbers is true. A friend of my boyfriend sends him a couple boxes every month.
I don't think risking the side affect of the pill is worth the pleasure of making love with out a raincoat! And no one truly knows the long term affects the pill may cause!

Limelight is about the only place in Itaewon I can stomach, mainly because it DOESN'T cater to the GI crowd (none of that gangsta rap crap that gets played in every other club). Hongdae/Shinchon is more my speed, anyway.

Speaking of Korea (getting back on topic), how do the Japanese regard people getting contraceptives? Not condoms, but the pill or other prescribed contaceptives. In Korea, the doctors and pharmacists blab (especially in smaller towns) and the rumours start flying about what a ho you must be. Are the Japanese nosy busybodies in the same way, or do they leave you to your own damn business in peace?

YEAH people are gonna talk.... Has got nothing to do with Japan -- it's a small-town thing.

Easy solution IS just to buy jimmy-hats. Buy em' at a larger chain-mart type of drugstore instead of your local mom & pop pharmacy where they know your name. But regardless, size is often an issue. I buy mine either at Condomania in Tokyo or mail order direct from Condomania in New York.

That's the best way, actually. Condomania in New York offers custom-sized condoms. You gotta measure your willy at home, using the special printable measuring-tape (that's the weird part) and they'll send ya tailor-made product. They're awesome! Perfect fit -- they don't choke your soldier (or conversely) slip off... And the price is fairly reasonable.

Good luck!

*Uh... Sorry... Went on a tangent there.

Geez, I hadn't even thought about the blabber-mouths that might be out there, and we're going to be in a town of 5000! I might as well stamp "ho" (in Japanese) onto my forehead.

I had no idea you could tailor-make condoms. We tailor-make clothing so why should condoms be far behind?

Stamp it in red, too. But in your case, you'll be there with your boyfriend, so it's not like the rumours would affect you too much. I worked in small town, about 3000 people, and never thought ahead to the "scandal" buying condoms would cause. I was effectively persona non grata once it went around I was intending to sleep with "their" women (it didn't help much that I was put up in a love hotel by my school). My social life, not that I had one in the first place, nosedived until I moved to Seoul a couple months later.

Hmm, kind of like the scarlet letter. What fun! I think being there with my fiance will be cause enough for gossip since we're not actually married.

Funny, I thought this kind of thing would be much more taboo in Korea but no one really seemed to care. Or I just didn't perceive if they cared or not.

Cheers!

Just tell them you ARE married. Who's gonna know otherwise?

You can bet your sweet ass they did (I haven't been to country that has more busybody neighbours per capita than Korea). You just didn't pick up on the rumours flying around you.
