Or do you sit on the internet all day at work without so much as saying hello to the only other foreigner within miles?

(Sorry, I edited out all the other balogna I posted.)

Does a polite nod of recognition count as a greeting?

Confused

Bravo, Senor Spidey! Just when I thought I had pulled one over on everyone. Hah, you are the man!

Yet, the question remains.

Enjoy yourself,

Sweetsee--

It'd be nice to see all of the stuff that you posted and edited out. Just to create some context.

Hi Denise,

Have you been stuck on a chair-lift or something this whole time, perhaps seshing with locals in a snow-cave?

I wrote up a little 8-question quiz complete with scoring system with the hopes of generating some disscussion on a subject very close to my heart. After seversl days, no replies and several folks taking the piss I felt embarrassed and--voila.

Too bad too because I put more than a small effort into it and have yet to receive a simple answer to what I consider a simple question. After completeing the text and feeling it wasn't complete I even went back and worked out the scoring aspect, I was rather pleased as I never attempted such a feat.

Are you really interested or was your querry simply a shot? If it's the former than perhaps you would like me to re-create it for you, which I would certainly do, though not until I have had my shower, coffee and paper, breakfast, yoga and get to the office. Let me know.

All the best,
s

Hi Johnny,

Seems we have a common interest, tennis that is.

Winning or losing?

Conversationalist---synonym=schmoozer

That's cool that you like tennis. I love it! I go into a deep withdrawl during the week after a Grand Slam. It's pathetic really.

I don't understand "Winning or Losing?" What did you mean?

I guess I am not a conversationalist. I get annoyed by schmoozing.

So, you aren't a tennis player?

I guess my point with this thread is that most English conversation teachers are not very adept at conversation, sort of like a tennis coach that sucks at tennis.

Schmoozing is what makes the world goes around. Rightly or wrongly, we need schmoozing because without it, there would be no messages behind the messages. I'm not so sure if I like direct questions or direct statements.

I mean, most guys don't walk up to a lady and say "excuse me, but I would like to engage with you in small talk to find out if I have any chance hitting the hay with you". Guys who flirt with women usually mean this, but they don't come right out and say it. It would be socially taboo.

Schmoozing is a form of flattery. Like for example complimenting someone on their avatar.

Right, Sweetsea? Razz
