Hey guys, I need your help. I'll be moving to Madrid in September with a friend to take the EBC course and I want to know what places are good to live in Madrid. Ideally I'd like something not out in the middle of nowhere - but I really want to practice my Spanish so I don't want to live around a lot of foreigners in the center, either. Any recommendations?

Also, my friend and I want to live with Spanish roommates...is it usually difficult to find a flat that advertises 2 rooms for rent? Are there any other places I should be searching besides loquo and segundamano?

Thanks so much!

Liz

Yes, Segundamano is a good place to start because it is a local paper. There are many great places I can recommend starting off with those close to metros Lavapies, Atocha, Arguelles, Tribunales, San Bernardo, Chueca, the list goes on. If your Spanish is good enough, make sure you let the landlord know that you would prefer to share with Spanish people because you want to improve on the Spanish. Theyll like that, I found that when I told the locals I wanted to work on my Spanish, they became friendlier.
