Hey all

I am leaving for Takatsuki in September, and was curious to know if anyone knows of a place online that I can find a free map of the city, preferably in English. I have searched MapQuest, but it is not availible yet.

The only other option I found was Omnimap but they are charging for the map.
http://www.omnimap.com/catalog/int/japan/jpcity.htm

The other question I had was how to locate my school on the map.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appriciated

Probably not much help if you dont read Japanese.

http://www.mapfan.com/m.cgi?MAP=E135.37.12.4N34.50.33.8&ZM=8&NFLG=1&NFLG=1&u1=kankou/27/jmap.html&s1=%C2%E7%BA%E5%C9%DC%C3%CF%BF%DE

Click on the arrows to move the direction.

Unlike western countries japanese addresses do not have street names or numbers, but are split up into small blocks with numbers on the buildings. You need to know the address (e.g. Takatsuku-shi, minami-Takatsuki-ku, minami- cho, 5-5-1) and then you will find the area on the map (as far as the "cho" or "ku") Ku is like a suburb and a cho is a block of houses.

The map scale or "zoom" is the numbers at the bottom.
