We are working on some pronunciation materials and I have told the teachers working on it to stay away from phonetic inscriptions. Our teachers have mixed accents (Brit, US, Canadian, ozzie, etc) and it seems to complicated to try to control which accent would be "the" one. of course since I am Canadian, perhaps that should be it... How do you approach it?

Re music, I had a teacher friend who put together a bunch of short clips from old rock'n'roll to practice numbers, geog, etc. It was fabulous, but unfortunately I never did get a copy of it.
