Hello. Up untill now I was totally convinced that the only way to work in Korea is if you had a 4 year BA. Now recently I ran into a middle aged lady (no degree) who wanted to go into Europe. So anyway she told me that when she posted her resume over the internet, she got alot of emails from Korean schools who aparently told her that even though she has no degree, they can still find a way to take care of all that and still get her into Korea. Now I'm not sure if there's a catch here or not but I just thought that those of you in Korea may know more about it. Thanks.

p.s. I saw one Korean job post saying that no BA was required. Any thoughts on that? |

It's my distinct impression that Korean LAW says there must be a B.A. That's what I've read. Now, I know in some nations things can be taken care of with a bribe, but I'm not sure if this law is bendable. Also, they are now requiring sealed transcripts proving college graduation and course of study. I'm hoping to be on my way to Korea and even the shadiest hagwons with the worst reps in the world are insisting on evidence of a degree AND its study for it. (Thus, "life experience" degrees especially for those with no college experience probably will never fly.)
I fear they want your friend to come in illegally and keep renewing a tourist visa. I also fear the very people who would "take care" of her by encouraging any kind of thing like this would bail on your friend in a second if she is caught.
Maybe I'm wrong.
