B4 I sound too negative, I wanna say that this KSA forum is one thing that doesn't let me down. some good job info, the flaming is usually creative and mirth inducing (in good English to boot!) and mostly folks of the kindly sort. When I read the prose (hey, why not verse too??) of such people I wonder
hmmm? "maybe there are whole clusters or "hubs" or something of clever and friendly folks on-line out there somewhere. Since I am not long for this world of barbed wire and no brew pubs, I thought I would explore the
"cyber-spheres" and find some good e-exchanges if not yet also some new friends. (Disclaimer: I do like REAL humans but...no reliable wheels in Riyadh, you know whadda mean)
well, guess I am a poor cybernaut since I found lot of empty B Boards or those populated with trolls and flame ogres. One, simply called the WELL, seemed good but was too labyrinthine and insider for me. Many seem so highly specialized, i.e., for gothic, skating boarding, teen, transexual, survivor collectors of Barvarian porcelain (OK...I did make that up a bit).
I think I'd even pay the fees for a good one (I keep thinking bout Motley Fool and would hope to recoop the hi fees through great stock tips ), or might lose shirt and gutra.
I once food a travel (budget) related site where people had something like home pages besides their posts about whatever region about which they knew. It seemed really cool, but some how went missing from my
(chaotic) bookmark pile. Sound familiar?
I think this is something quite a few expats 'd like to learn about if you know something. Myself, am mostly into adventure travel, ecology, cross-culture communication (ya know, like Republicans and human beings, Manchester and R Madrid supporters) and language. But ANYTHING friendly and "stimulating" would be, dear and magnanimous cyber gurus chez Dave, of interst to lots of people here.
