Apologies if this has previously been promoted and discussed (or if everyone knows it already) but I did a search and didn't find anything quickly. I was reminded of it by the guy who posted about the new 'online resource' and thought there may be some people who don't know about this site and might find it useful.

When I was working for the BC earlier this year they were really pushing it. I believe it's built and maintained by BC Cairo. I'm not saying it's great or without problems but worth checking out?

For use by Arabic speaking students with or without a teacher:

Do you mean the squiggly writing isn't good Arabic or that it was coming up with strange code on the screen? I never learnt any Arabic but they told me it was mostly a translation of the instructions.

It's a huge site and they add new stuff each month. It is a bit 'cutey' and a lot of it looks aimed at children - though a colleague in Doha used it for light relief with a 5 hours a day in-company class. A lot of the 'exercises' need some fair degree of English too.

Tank Turtle rules!

Veiled,
Have you checked out if the Arabic Encoding Feature for Windows has been properly installed on your computer? (Though I'm not an oracle on these matters, yet, I think) this may be the reason for the Gibberish stuff on your screen.
I have just opened up the link and have found everything (be it written in English or Arabic) crystal clear.

I have never adjusted anything in order to receive Arabic script, but many sites open with it... newspapers, magazines and such.

This site ends up with something cryptic... oh well...
