Hi,

I received a job offer from a Mr James Zhang, who has a return email address of alin buuer. I have just read alot of negative info on Alin Buuer. Has anyone heard of this school: Jiangsu No. 1 High School, or James Zhang??

Thanks.
Mitch

Alin Buuer goes by many aliases. No doubt James Zhang is just one of the many that he uses. If a recruiter can not even use his real name, are you going to have full trust in him?

The school probably exists, but I strongly doubt that's the school Alin Buuer will place you in.

The bottom line is, stay far, far away from Alin Buuer.

I have only one piece of advice: RUN FOR THE HILLS!

Alin Buuer is notorious for scamming people, and he is known to have advertised under different names in the past.

He is trying to scam you now.

Drop this contact and move on.

I don't know anything about this school, but, (assuming it actually exists) if you can find direct contact info you could try talking to the school directly.

If not, let it go. There are plenty of jobs out there.

I think that this pretty accurately sums up this recruiter.

If you are sure that you want to go through a recruiter then I think that you will find that New Times International and Buckland are likely to give you a more trouble free run. Not everyone will agree no doubt, but I think that overall these two recruiters have a pretty good track record overall.

Yes, I concur with all of the postings on this page.

He also has a cohort-in-deception whose name I do not remember.

Additionally, he is NOT Chinese at all, he is either an Australian or a New Zealander and he currently operates out of Bangkok, having been removed from the PRC for activities incompatible with his professional tenure.

Additionally agreed -- I personally would go with New Times in Hebei -- never mind all the limited negative feedback.

Are you sure he's Australian or New Zealander? His command of the English language is absolutely terrible. He can't possibly be a native speaker, unless of course that's all part of his schtick.

On a related note, I've managed to find a bunch of my lost reviews, including one of Alin Buuer, and have started reposting them on my new site. I've included a list of all the aliases Mr. Buuer uses that I can remember seeing. Right now I have:

Mr Woo
Peter Agree
Fa Fa Li
Mr James Zhang
Fronk Zhong

If anyone has some names they know he uses that I can add to the list, please post them here or PM me.

Dear Nate,

Yes, the "bad English accent" is part of his "shtick". He was even being investigated by other Asian governments after so many complaints. He would post jobs on his site, collect documents from people, edit, manipulate and use the documents for other purposes (remember -- people send him university diplomas, passports, etc., etc., etc.). I suspect his purposes are far more nerfarious than we know.

I actually know of one person who worked through him. The person accepted a nice job at a nice university. The person arrived in China, went to the university, and guess what...no job, of course, no contract, nothing. I think New Times in Hebei ended up assisting the person in the end. And in the past, before all of the warnings went up, he would actually charge people money and they would pay...

Please see if you can find his partner's name -- they are both Westerners.

Check out this ad: www.eslpages.com/esljobsinternational/0000003a.htm

Notice the contact e-mail address: [email protected] and the first sentence, "This is Mr Fronk Zhang". Now take a look at the bottom of the ad:

Quote:
Tel: +86 21 50940400 58701374 Mobile: 13391005255 Fax: 021 50940393

Shanghai's area code is 21, according to www.countrycodes.com/areacodes/call_china.htm This ad was posted from a computer with the IP address of 218.81.183.13 which according to www.apnic.net/apnic-bin/whois.pl belongs to a PC connected to Chinanet's Shanghai network. Does this mean Alin Buuer is back in China?

If China can block web sites, they should be blocking every one carrying this recruiter's ads.

Yes, I agree with you there but in China yes, outside China alot more difficult!

I actually worked for a recruiter (don't flame me just yet!). I was doing some writing for another business other an recruiting for them.

Anyway I became good friends with the Chinese manager. I found him very honest and open. He was having a difficult time in recruiting FE's.

Early this year he said to me he was closing the business. He said that the people industry ALL lie and he had done so to get teachers and he didn't like it. It went against his integrity as a person and he was not wanting to be a part of it.

He said that most recruiters have NO POWER in any relationship with the schools. Once a school employs a teacher the relationship has ended, even if there are problems between the school and the teacher the recruiter has nothing to do with it and is told so by the school in the strongest terms if the recruiter tries to intervine.
