Have you been to Pendik lately, i went last summer for the first time in years. I really didnt recognise it. Although i guess everywhere changes in 10 years. Look at Taksim. |

No, I went back to Pendik several years after I left and you are right it had changed a lot. They built an overpass near Necati Bey Aparmani and had developed the ''corniche'' area. I will go back one of these days. Look at the outskirts of Ist-buyukcekmece has changed completely and so has Sile.
I hope the Saturday market in Pendik hasn`t changed. |

I hope it has changed. I remember walking home after lessons on saturdays(i lived in the apt. on the other side of the railway. It used to stink of rotten fruit and veg by 5 in the evening. pooohey. then having to go under the underpass where there was just wall to wall people selling junk tripping over the guys with no limbs with their trousers rolled up to prove it. it wasnt the most enjoyable walk home. |

Your flat had THE washing machine so once a week I had to cross the railway tracks, use the underpass to get to your old flat. But at least you didn`t live on the 12th floor.
That was a nice flat with good furniture. I always remember staying the night there when I first arrived and Tom making me breakfast and taking me into Taksim and to the BC. I was so overwhelmed what with just having arrived. |

You did have a nice view though. abit of a nightmare when the electricity went off or the lift broke down, it did happen often. I dont remember the washing machine, maybe I took it for granted. |
