Hi!
Does anyone have a list (or contact ideas) of teaching openings in Bishkek?
Thanks.
Rick

there's a job on the tefl.com site there being advertised right now-but are you sure you REALLY want to go there at the moment, especially as things are not very stable after the recent government change etc??

i've been in Bishkek for the last two years working as a teacher trainer for an NGO. Just to slightly correct Maruss' point, things have stabilised considerably over the last few months. A couple of weeks ago there were elections that passed without incident and life is pretty much back to normal. I don't think there are any problems with people coming to work here now.

As for schools, I don't know that much except that there aren't that many! I imagine your best bet is to contact the London School, which employs native speakers and has a very good reputation. I did a lot of my training at Lingua school which is also excellent, but unfortunately this is owned by the Soros Foundation and generally only employs locals (this being part of their charter to develop Kyrgyz teachers).
