just a quick question:

after reading an online job info blurb (for japan), i noticed that it said that a shaved head was considered unacceptable. as a male of generally smart appearance (when necessary anyway) i was wondering if people are aware of similar problems in japan or other places across asia? is anyone aware of countries/organisations that do not approve of shaven headed teachers? or is it not going to be a problem in most places?

cheers

In my experience Koreans and Thais generally don't like it, as to whether it would affect your chances of getting a job is another question. Each country has it's own ideas about dress code for example.
