Hi Everyone,
I am planning on moving abroad to teach English. I am looking into taking a TEFL course and was hopping to get some advice.
I can take a course here in the US for cheaper than a course in Barcelona but I am afraid it will be difficult to obtain a job in Barcelona once I arrive without assistance from a local TEFL course school. Has anyone just arrived in Barcelona and found work teaching english on their own?
If I do take a TEFL course in Barcelona I am looking at the Windsor School. It is the only one I found with a course in Barcelona. Does anyone have any information (good and bad) about the course? How is their job placement, especially for US citizens? Recomendations for other courses? The course will end in November and I worry that ESL jobs will already be filled. Does anyone have any experience with about how long I would have to wait before getting a job?
I would also like to know where I can find information about visas in Spain. Will I have to leave the country every 3 months with a tourist visa? I worked in Brasil for a couple of years with a cultural visa with a sponsorship from the school I worked at. Has anyone done this in Spain?
Thanks in advance for any advice you have. |
