I am moving to CR in 10 days and I am nervous about my health insurance situation. I no longer have health insurance in the USA and would like to obtain some in CR. If anyone has suggestions about how to make the process of obtaining insurance easier it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ben |

With a little help from Cathy, thanks again, I came across a web site which describes the ins-and-outs of health insurance in CR. I found that CCSS is for residents or people who will be documented by the man. The INS is more lenient and allows "tourists" to get insurance. Being a 25 year old male it will cost me about $250 a year and around an average of $400 a year for females. I will leave the phone number for the INS or national insurance institute (506)223-5800 and the email in which there is more useful info. www.1costaricalink.com/goldendoor/door-costarica-55.htm This web site was designed for retirees and they generally know their medical info. Peace. Ben |
