Anybody know what life is like teaching in Taksim, besides chaos? What do teachers normally do after school, go to the parc and make out? Can I play baseball? How can I get involved in activities etc..? Can I sing the Mariachi? LOL....i'm not a big eater, and I hate Mc Donalds...what can I do? It' seems like it's all about eating, drinking, smoking, talking, having uh hum..and drinking tea. Can I walk dogs? hehe...
Any input on what to do besides eating brains and visiting castles will be greatly appreciated. If you have any ideas please don't stand on ceremony. Entrailicus even your input on this is vital. |

Your question is a little lost on me, Do you want to know what the Do and Don'ts are. Or are you asking about the social life of the city.
The question of the do and don'ts would take alot of time and everyone would have their own view.
As for the social life, well its not like Istanbul is some third world back water with nothing to do. If you want to find out have the money and time then all you have to do is read things like Istanbul life and Street beat to find out about most of the activites in the city.
Have FUN |

I expect most of us do the same things at night as anyone-- eat dinner, go out to a bar or cafe, go dancing, see a movie, walk around aimlessly, stay home and watch TV... I expect there are even some of us who talk to strangers now and again. |

Yeah, I think so. Ageing seems to be the inertia becoming more permanent, and liking it. Plus our sofa is reeeeeeeeaaaalllly comfortable, what with the velour and all. I do spend more time eating dinner at home and watching TV than I used to. I never did like going to movies, and my husband's not much of a clubber. We still go out most weekends, it's just a bit tamer, with less vomiting.
I know there's a social life out there if I choose to partake. And except for everyone speaking Turkish and the constant threat of predatory Eastern European women and their pimps, it's not much different here than at home. |

The best thing about having dinner parties is that you don't have to drag yourself home afterwards! |

İt depends on what youre into i guess. i am sure you can anything you want to do in taksim or a nearby city. But be careful, if you are looking for a night of sinful pleasures, it is going to be dangerous and expensive. But you can find ANYTHİNG in Taksim. |
