i am obviously not a doctor. i havent got a degree from a medical faculty just a degree in physics, MA and PCD ( Preliminary Certificate in Dentistry), i have been prescribing medicines and treating people's injury especially the backache and neckache Smile What is my job? Do you want to send your kids to me when they are ill?

You can't compare being a doctor and being a tefler. If a doctor or dentist makes a mistake at work it could be a matter of life and death. The biggest mistake a tefler is likely to make at work is pushing the wrong button on the photocopier.

teachers can teach someone the wrong thing. incorrect grammar, pronunciation, cultural norms etc. a native speaker EFL teacher could be a poor representative for their home country. teachers can be real creeps and mess with students heads. but i think some of the academic education baloney they make us study in teacher training is pretty pointless up against classroom teaching experience.
