It's true! In recent months, not only have I cast aspersions on foreign graduates of Yank MBA programs, but I have also commented on the amount of cologne that Yanks wear!
I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Department of Fatherland Security has me down on their hit list as an enemy of Freedom and Democracy. Perhaps they'll shoot my family, torture me, then blow up my house and bill me for rebuilding it. Bugger. |
You appear to believe that all 'yanks' are mirror images of their government so i guess we can say that all 'convict scum' are the same as theirs, right? Although i see you more as Pauline Hanson than John Howard. |

How about getting back to giving escualidos (or non-escualidos) English classes?
And JohnnyTheKid: Don't be so sure that the moonraven will ALWAYS be American. Native Americans can become citizens of other countries.... |

Maybe Aramas is so unpleasant because his hero Pauline Hanson lost to Bec Cartwright on "Dancing with the Stars".

It doesn't matter if you change your citizenship. You'll always be an American, just like Einstein will always been considered German, not American.
P.S. With a name like Marthe, I am sure you can appreciate it when people spell your name correctly instead of writing Martha. It's Jonny, not Johnny. |

Considering all the snide configurations that have been given to my nom de guerre on this forum, you'll get no sympathy from me, kid.
Moving right along--in regard to the OP's question: English schools in Latin America that offer one-to-one classes usually have a rough go of it, due to Latin American cultural habits of not always showing up for classes. Some schools have received bad reps with teachers for not paying them when a student didn't show up for classes. That may not be true in Caracas, but it is something to take into consideration if you need to have a predictable paycheck.

Marthe, I can give you some sympathy. I'm a horrendous poet, too! |

I, however, am not. I have been publishing poetry and giving public readings of my poetry since WAY before you were born. (Not to mention that my MA is in Creative Writing--Poetry.)
Keep to what you know something about.
Your silence will be appreciated.

Trying to silence one's critics is a favourite tactic of some of your heroes. George Bush, Hugo Chavez, Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler to name but four. |

That was one of the "catches" at the one and only private language school where I worked. If no students showed up by the time class was scheduled to start -- which happened sometimes with one-on-one or very small classes -- the teacher was expected to wait 15 minutes. If nobody showed up by that time, the teacher was free to leave or do whatever, but there was no pay for that hour. Also, if classes were canceled due to the weather (hurricane warnings in this part of the word,) no pay. Of course, no pay when there were no classes due to national or religious holidays either. |

I did NOT publish it on the JOb Discussion Forum, however. If I had wanted to use my name as my nom de guerre on this forum I would have done so.
You continue to violate the rights of other posters--this is not the first time that you have done this on the Job Discussion Forum, as you did so also to Guy Courchesne when you published a PRIVATE mail. You also continue to the violate rules about insulting other posters. And you have never posted anything even remotely relevant to ESL.
Yes, you were banned, as well. Try proving that you were not. |

Hey, Guy, sorry about this, but Marthe is trying to induct you into the "Society of the Victimized". Please set her straight. You know I haven't done this to you.

Nice to meet you, Pot. My name's Kettle.

How exactly does one go about proving that? Can you prove you've never been banned? |

You figure out how to prove it. This will be a test of your problem-solving abilities. |

Why is it always the thickies that think they're clever? (Note to thickies: That was a rhetorical question.) |

Im one of the founders of OptimalEnglish and I run our recruitment program CoachEnglish. We started two years ago from scratch, developing our own English-learning system, writing the books, recording our CDs, building our websites, selling our services and logging more than 20.000 academic hours of coaching at companies like P&G, Microsoft, Sun, Pfizer as well as government entities such as PDVSA, the National Budget Office and the Central Bank. We have worked with a linguist from the University of Washington, Dr. Nancy Ackles, to make sure the system is sound from an academic point of view.
Through CoachEnglish we recruit recent college graduates and in some instances college students. We help with all relocation issues once they get to Caracas and offer contracts for up to 12 months. Currently there are coaches working with us who have studied or are studying at places as far away from each other as Vanderbilt and Oxford.
None of us has an MBA (I studied Genetics at Cornell, one my partners studied Politics at Hampshire College and pursued a PhD in Comp Lit at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and the other one is studying engineering at Universidad Simon Bolivar), although I'd like to get one someday. We are doing this because we believe in it and are having a good time doing it. We were all born in Caracas, think the city is a great place to live and have chosen to start our company here. And thats the story. Please write me if you have any questions and thanks for all the interest. ([email protected]) (www.coachenglish.com and www.optimalenglish.com) |

No doubt wearing a pink latex gimp outfit. Generally it's considered poor taste to flaunt one's sexual fantasies in public. |
