Hi all,
I know I'm well sad reading all your mails instead of enjoying the (relatively) warm London evening but I'd love to know how you all got on when you met up. Did you all find each other or even the bar? Were any of you still standing by the end of the night? Is sqwerl alright? Thinking about it, I have the same addictive tendencies of needing to know what happened next towards Eastenders!. BA sounds amazing and I can't tell you how reassuring it is to sit here thousands of miles away and read all about live over there. I just hope I can be of the same help once I'm there to someone sitting here planning on coming over. I really hope tonight was a roaring success, it'd be grat to hear how it went,
regards

Or 'great' in your first post...haha
What is going in in eastenders these days? Last i saw, zoe claimed she was preggers with den junior's kid and sharon took off in a taxi...zoe, of course, wasn't preggers and i've been wondering ever since how she managed to get out of that one? Did she go off and sha g the black streetcleaner to get herself preggers and not realise the consequences of the baby coming out a slightly different colour to den junior? I'd like to think the writers made her that stupid...and anything's possible in the 'enders... |

No one has answered yet ... so does that mean it was a dud? Or that you're all still in bed and hung-over? |

It was interesting.... some cool people that I would definately hang with again.
Matt/Krista: I think the period part grossed people out... good. |

Yeah, I guess I did drink enough...because I don't remember that part of the evening. It's probably best that way.
It was nice to meet everyone who made it out. |

It was nice. Of course, you guys dont really expect us to write what we really thought of the time and every one. Especially now that we have met face to face, you cant just get on the internet and type the whole truth. Now everything is a little more complex... Of course, I am bemoaning the loss of the impunity with which I could lie and write whatever silly or fantastic thing I wanted to. But it was nice. About ten people were there, and sqwerl is probably going to make it. |

It was entertaining, and I thankfully missed the period conversation.
Someone should have taken a picture or something.
I left a bit early and still managed to sleep through my class this morning. How late did everyone stay?
How many people came... hmm
The people I remember from ELSCAFE that came were
Matttheboy
Snielz
Sheena Mclean
Krstjn
Sarah
Me
Citrus Cinders
Gareth
I'm sure I forgot some people. A few people brought friends along too. |

Hey guys, where were you sitting? I arrived at Acabar about 11, and after scouting out the place and finding no drunk English speakers, I asked a waitress in my broken Spanish: Ha visto algunas personas hablando el ingles? She led me to two American girls who are studying abroad. Turns out, one of them went to high school with one of my classmates at EBC, so I ending up hanging with them. I didnt see any of you guys (although I dont know what you look like). We were sitting in the middle of the second main room, the one on the left when looking from the front. We were two tables away from the large group of chanting people at the front window, who I thought were speaking Spanish, but...?
I wish I could have met you guys. Things didnt go so bad, though, since one of the girls is talking to the son of Argentinas former Vice Prime Minister and former Ambassador to the United States. He was cool as shit, paid for all our drinks, and saved me a taxi ride home. Good guy to know I guess.
Hopefully well do it again. |

Taylor,
Thats too bad...we were just across the room from the drunk people in the front window chanting in Spanish. Perhaps another time... |

Hi all,
sounds like you guys had a great time. Thanks for the update!! In response to your question matt, she ended up pregnant by Dennis's dad (Den), had an abortion (manipulated by Chrissie, Den's wife) Dennis ran off with and is about to marry his sister (Sharon) and Den ended up buried under the Vic after being murdered by Chrissie in the presence off Zoe and Sam!. What do you do without Enders!!!!
I'm sure it's been asked and answered before but hey I just want to make sure. If I come with a return ticket but dated way past my 3 month holiday visa what are the chances of being able to just say I'm travelling around LA for a year?. Also how suss is it if I have my CELTA qualification and a couple of Teach English grammar books in my bag? I mean the books could be explained away but the certificate? Or am I just being paranoid and do the authorities not really care? oh and last but not least I speak Spanish if I was to be stopped with all this in my bag do I speak English and pretend not to understand or would it curry favour that I spoke the lingo? As you can see I have too much time on my hands to sit around and worry about this!! Any advice would be appreciated,
thanks

I met two people from Ohio (Kristen and Jill, I think?) and a guy named Ian, but I don't know if you people post here. Who are you? Speak up! Anyways, twas good to meet you all. and, it's good to know that we didn't stand out too much...it seems some locals were being the noisy lound bunch of the night Hooray for blending!
Sarah
PS notice I remembered to sign out this time...I am not Amy1982 after all |
