Ozburn, the war was a long time ago. I wasn't there and more to the point, neither were you. Don't use other peoples heroism as a blanket just because they're the same nationality as you.
If you want East Europeans to issue you work visas it's simple; extend them the same courtesy. It's simple reciprocation. Every country in the EU can give work visas to whoever the hell they like but, if you don't let them in your country, why should they do you the same favour.
I'd love to work as mechanic (I'm qualified) in Australia for example, but I'm not allowed.
The difference is, I don't bitch and whine about it. I know there are plenty of qualified and unemployed Aussie mechanics who, quite rightly come before me.

Just as at one time it would have been strange for someone from California to consider themselves a citizen of the USA. Your allowed to be federalist but we're not?
If you're a qualified teacher (Bed) you can work in the UK or Ireland.
If you really want to work in one of these countries (non English speaking) then consider learning their language, you might find they treat you alot differently if you even make the effort. |

In the spirit of friendly relations Ozburn, I do agree with the sentiment of this and I would really like to see a relaxing of boundaries and less restrictive travel and work for all, I just can't see it happening worldwide at this time. In a sense, that's what the EU rules do for many Europeans. Even though it hurts some EFL teachers, think of all the skilled and poor unskilled people who will have better opportunities due to the EU rules.
Can someone please, post an authoritative guide to each countries visa procedure and pin it. |
