Hi Guys
Does any one have any advice/info on taking Spanish lessons in Guayaquil. I am going in September for 6 Months and would like to go to school. My level is pretty much basic so intensive lessons would be ideal.
I hear its quite expensive?

Thanks for your help
Take it easy Wink

My advice is to take them somewhere else--anywhere else, in fact.

Guayaquil is a hellhole.

I studied Spanish at the Universidad Catolica in Guayaquil (one of the better universities) and really enjoyed it. My Spanish teacher was actually an English teacher at the university but he gave Spanish lessons to foreigners on the side.
For the group I was with it cost $300 for 50 hours--that was the rate whether there was one person or more so, since I was with 2 other people, it only cost me $100. (now, that was 3 years ago, so I don't know how much it's gone up since them).
It was a nice set-up because the hours were very flexible. This type of program wouldn't be for you if you want classes all day long but it works great for 2 hours or so a day.
Hope this helps!
