hey i was just wondering if it's too much to ask for my employer to send me my ticket before hand instead of being reimbursed later. what do you think? |

Depends on where you are going. What guarantee does he have that you will turn up and not just quit on him as soon as you get there? He's then out the cost of one plane fare and no teacher.
I believe in China and Korea that airfares are provided. |

Yeah, it depends on the country and the school. Korea seems to be one of the few places, at least in Asia, where most schools offer prepaid airfare. I think in China most, if not all schools, will merely reimburse your airfare. |

If you go on the JET program in Japan as well the airticket it provided before you leave. JET is government-run, ticket is paid for by the taxpayer and everyone leaves from the departure point at the same time.
I know with AEON for example you have to pay a deposit which you get back when you start working. This is to stop people "doing a runner" on them even before they arrive at their final destination. |
