Which do you prefer, someone who has been teaching in the middle of the street where the bomb killed Lebanon's former PM last spring--or someone who was teaching gun runners in the Triple Frontier in Paraguay? |
Well, neither in fact. A person standing, or teaching, in the street at such an ill-fated moment would, in all likelihood, be sadly indisposed at this present time, and someone who had worked as a mercenary in South America would be highly unlikely to want or need to work in TEFL in the first place!!!!! [As a matter of interest, why would someone be teaching in the middle of the street anyway?]
I would actually go for another criterion, one which I know would rule out lots of people: I would hire someone with a sense of humour. |
