Does anyone know about the Teach International certificate from somewhere in Australia? I've looked at their web site and it looks fairly legit. It's online components with a two-week phase that seems mostly to be the teaching practice.
I'm not looking to do a course. I'm looking to hire a teacher who has done one. Lest any of you get on my case about anything stupid, I've already decided to hire the man. He presented himself to me in person, and struck me as laid back, up front and professional (in a young Aussie sort of way, which is definitely a selling point). The man has got the job.
What I'd like to know is what sort of course this is. In this man's case, I want to know what I can expect him to have learned. Is it typical, CELTA/Trinity TESOL stuff? For future reference, is this a good course? It seems to be. But what can anyone tell me about it?
My only concern (and I'll admit that it DOES concern me a bit) is that they allow teachers to do the face-to-face portion BEFORE they do the online components. I wonder if that's really much use. It sounds a little nonsensical to me.
What do any of you know? |
