Hi
I'm a teacher from the UK with 2 years experience, currently living in Barcelona. I'm interested in moving to San Diego. I'd like to carry on learning and speaking Spanish but also earn a pretty good wage. Is there anyone out there in San Diego/border of Mexico/west coast who can give any advice on whether there is any work out there and what life is like. In fact I'd be grateful on any words of wisdom on that area of the world. Let's do this...

Are you certified in the UK? In the US you usually need a public school teaching certificate or a master's in TESL to get a good paying job in this field. There is a lot of volunteer work, or part-time work for very low pay otherwise. |

San Diego State University has one of the largest and best-known TEFL certification programs in the U.S.: American Language Institute.

San Diego County has lots of TEFL jobs, but there are also lots of certified teachers. |
