Hi
Last year I worked in Barcelona, and I'm now back in the UK for a few weeks before going back.
I worked for a few different companies, a few private lessons and used the NIE number that I picked up. No contracts though. I also had an E111 form. I have the same hours available to be in a few weeks time, and I'd like to do it again.
My question is this: How am I going to get medical insurance this teaching year without an E111 or a contract? I know the E111 is only covered for short stays and think I should get some proper insurance now, as i've been teaching abroad for a year.
Any advice or suggestions much appreciated.

You dont need a contract to get your medical cover, you just need your temporary NIE number - go down to your local medical centre, theyll give you a temporary form until your proper identity card comes through, when theyll give you a 10 year one.
Do it now, dont wait until you get ill to do it, like I very intelligently did! |

Where I was, I had to show my empadronamiento as well. Which I think I needed to have a job to get?? I must admit that my memory of it all is a bit hazy - so much paperwork! |
