Greetings. I have two items that should be of interest and value to anyone wanting to teach in China particularly, and maybe other Asian countries.

One is a warning to avoid a man named James Zhang (or Frank Zhang) from an ESL recruiting website named tefl.cc. The man appears to be a fraud and a con artist operating under several aliases and his tefl website should be avoided at all costs.

Second, I have posted on my website information and commentary about an ad this man placed on many websites, a copy of his contract with commentary, and a copy of a letter I sent to him with questions needing responses. These 3 items should be instructional if not enlightening to anyone wanting to teach in China (or already there).

Also, I have posted some useful information and tips on checking schools and negotiating teaching contracts. This should save many of you some headaches if not heartaches. It applies to everyone.

The URL is http://www.bearcanada.com/esl/scam.html

If you want to email me, send it to [email protected]

Regards,

I stand corrected. Your attentiveness is appreciated. Dumb mistake on my part.

Cheers

Another way is to trust your instincts.

Simple, but effective.

You are wiser than you perhaps realise, my friend.

But one of the main reasons that we read so many heartbreaking stories about teachers in China is that we don't trust ourselves enough listen to that little voice.

Thanks for your post.
