The fall term has started in China and a number of jobs are unfilled. Most ask for university degrees, but when there is a shortage of teachers, there are those with some university credit who also get hired and documented by the government to live and work in China.

Typical pay is about 4-5000 RMB, accomodations and RT airfare for a nine or ten month contract. It costs about 2-3,000 RMB/month to live. The rest can be used for travel, etc.

The quality of life seems to vary greatly, from city to city, in China. I live in Kunming- two hours from BKK. Pay is somewhat lower here than in other parts of China, but so is the cost of living.

Well I've already decided. A year in Thailand, followed by a year in China (Dalian appeals), followed by a year in Eastern Europe (I love Latvia but Ukraine appeals too) followed by (semi) retirement by the beach in Spain. Sorted. Assuming I pass the Celta and can teach!
