So how is the Thai dating scene? What has been everyone's experience?
P.S.-I am not interesting in hearing about hookers. Just normal Thai girls. |
Why do so many western males ask this question? Sheesh...

JosephP, it must be a little like something J. Paul Getty is supposed to have said, when marrying for the fifth time. "I'm a romantic. I still believe in the possibility of true love." |

About language schools, my figure of the equivalent of 38,000 was based on 25 hours of teaching, per week. |

That's about how many I was doing to get to 65,000B a month. |
How many of you in Thailand are working 25 hours/week at a language school, earning 600 Baht/hour, and more? Is this commonplace, nowadays?
Few, if any, I suspect.
(As I've said in other threads, when discussing salaries, I think extremes, on either end, should be discounted as not applicable to the majority of us; and, in this thread, I've tried to suggest figures that would be typical, rather than high or low end.)

The fall term has started in China and a number of jobs are unfilled. Most ask for university degrees, but when there is a shortage of teachers, there are those with some university credit who also get hired and documented by the government to live and work in China.
Typical pay is about 4-5000 RMB, accomodations and RT airfare for a nine or ten month contract. It costs about 2-3,000 RMB/month to live. The rest can be used for travel, etc.
The quality of life seems to vary greatly, from city to city, in China. I live in Kunming- two hours from BKK. Pay is somewhat lower here than in other parts of China, but so is the cost of living. |

Well I've already decided. A year in Thailand, followed by a year in China (Dalian appeals), followed by a year in Eastern Europe (I love Latvia but Ukraine appeals too) followed by (semi) retirement by the beach in Spain. Sorted. Assuming I pass the Celta and can teach! |
