Hi There

I'm currently in Shang-hai, China will be making my way to Thailand around late September.

Could anyone please help me and let me know you know a place where I stay for 22 nights - i know there is khao san road but Im on a budget of around $200 -$300 baht a night.

What I would like is in Bangkok -with air con and I dont mind sharing with people. In fact since Im travelling by myself I would prefer it.

I also need internet access- anyone know any place? Please PM me or email me on [email protected]

with ADSL cafes on every block;

SUK 11 is great, very friendly. Rates from 150baht for a dorm room (including a good breakfast). All rooms are spotlessly clean and have A/C and there are hot water showers (private or shared, depending on what type of room you have). It's very central, a few steps from the skytrain and not far from the underground too, yet it's on its own private subsoi with no traffic. Lots of plants and greenery, a small oasis in the middle of Bangkok with many many repeat guests and even some long term people who have made it their home while in BKK.
There's an internet post there and wifi ifyou have your own computer. Have a look at the website.

Yes, it's definitely worth booking ahead as the place is (deservedly) very popular. The rates are the same for walk in and pre-booked rooms, but with walk in you risk not getting a room if it's full. And it often is. If you're only staying a week then you won't get a discount I wouldn't think. But long-termers do get preferential rates. This is one place where bargaining and haggling isn't cool. The owner's son who runs it is Thai, but educated in the West ... he speaks perfect English, is very kind and he has class. If he can offer you a discount he will do so, though you might only know about it when you leave...he might throw in a free night or give you a reduced rate or not charge for luggage storage or something ... depends how long you are there for.

Yup there's wifi downstairs in the main lounge area. They have an honesty box for all internet use, 60 baht an hour in theory. Tea and coffee available all day too (honesty box again, 10 baht). They also have a TV room and loads of DVDs you can borrow and there's a laundry room with washing machines, a drier and washing lines to hang up clothes to dry. 30 baht for one 6kg machine (+washing powder) which is pretty cheap compared to what you'd pay at a laundry place.

Hmm, what else? Very handy 7/11 for beer etc a few steps away. Cheap street food also very nearby, though there are restaurants too of course. If you fancy a REALLY good pizza, there's a place called Limoncello a bit further down the Soi. (That also is usually full so you might have to wait for a table if you don't book)
