| Andrew Lin is a total douchebag and writes english well, but as Aristotle points out, he likely has other people using his name either on his behalf or not. Taiwanese LOVE the name Andrew and I last delat with him about 2 years ago, I got the exact same fake email references that the O.P. got and I also rolle dmy eyes and discontinued contact after it became apparant that the emails were invlaid or operated by him or friends. |

Apparently there was once a "good recruiter" on Taiwan that used the name Andrew Lin in central Taichung so 20 years ago when ESL teaching on Taiwan was still new.
He was associated with one of the religious school/organizations and would help non Chinese teachers and students find students.
He is long gone and whatever reputation he had has been torn to shreds by the various knock offs now using his "brand" name to lure in potential marks.
There is no such thing as a good recruiter or agent on Taiwan!
Good luck!

It really doesn't matter what color you use or how big you write it, it is still wrong!
There are a few very good recruiters in Taiwan and I have named them on this board in the past. |

That's the whole point. It is not me who decides whether these companies are good or not, it is the people who use these services. Numerous foreign teachers have communicated to us that they had positive experiences with certain recruiters, and this has piqued my interest in these recruiters. I now know them and I have found what I was told to be true. The comments from teachers that I refer to are listed on the site that I am involved with so feel free to check them out for yourself.
Now, I have answered your question, so now you can answer mine?
What proof do you have that the companies I have recommended do not deserve this recommendation? Have you personally dealt with them? Are you aware of some negative comments about them? If so then please show that they are indeed bad recruiters.
It really comes down to personal choice. I have said before that I wouldn't use a recruiter and that is in fact one of the reasons that I have become involved with a site that enables teachers to contact schools directly. That said, I respect the right for teachers to choose to use a recruitment service, and rather than make broad generalizations about a whole industry, I have instead opted to do some research, and have come up with some recruiters that people can choose to use if they want to.
It is very easy to sit back and criticize, but it takes courage to take a stand and actually create change. Hopefully one day you will come to see this Teacha and maybe then people will start to take your posts seriously. |
