|
|
I'm a 58 year old retired computer co. executive. I have a BA & a TESOL certification and would like to teach english to business people, either in a company or a business school. I've lived in Japan breifly in the past and would like to return to live and work in a major Japanese city. Can anyone help with advice on how to find such positions, or any schools or companies that might help? |

From what I can tell most business English positions are part-time, so I doubt they would sponsor your visa to get here. So you might want to try getting your visa with a language school (the big 4) and checking out what else you can find. Plenty of positions advertised at jobsinjapan.com or ohayosensei.com. Good luck. |

ADFads is right. Business classes are typically in the evenings and are gravy to a steady job. To come over here without a visa and a sponsor would be difficult. You're a tad too old for a working holiday visa, so you would need to get set up with housing, a steady income to pay the bills first.
With you're experience, you're better off studying Japanese and tyring to get a job in the computer industry where they need a native English speaker. |

My experience with Business English classes has been on a part-time basis only.I have found that many of the companies here in Japan only have a few business classes included in their regular schedules. You certainly would be qualified to teach,so if you got a job with an eikaiwa that also has business classes, you would be fine. When you apply to these companies you should express your desire to teach business classes.
Good luck. |
