I am looking for some information. I am a student of Languages, but I am thinking of taking a gap year and going to teach English in Japan on a work holiday visa. I have just finished my second year of four. Will I be adequately qualified to teach English if I attain a certificate in TEFL with London Teacher Training College (an online distance learning course)? Are there only certain colleges and qualifications that are recognised or is any TEFL course adequate? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks! |

As a newbie to teaching, with or withOUT a degree, you are only going to get work in conversation schools. Hardly any require TEFL certification or training. |
